Love + Vocation = Success

"And if you cannot work with love but only with distaste, it is better that you should leave your work and sit at the gate of the temple and take alms of those who work with joy."
-Khalil Gibran

The only way you can be successful is by finding a vocation you love and are passionate about. Otherwise it will be very difficult for you achieve high levels of success. If you do not know what your true calling is, it may be beneficial to stop everything you're doing and lock yourself in a room until you find out. Spending a week locked in your room is nothing compared to wasting years engaging in meaningless activities.

Some of my best thinking has been done on vacations. For example, when my family and I went to Costa Rica last year, I spent one week thinking about cameesa. That is my true calling. A team-oriented, customer-run, win-win company. With guys that would give their left thumbs for each other.

The word is "Vocation" not "Vacation"

Definition below:

vo·ca·tion (v-kshn)
n.
1. A regular occupation, especially one for which a person is particularly suited or qualified.
2. An inclination, as if in response to a summons, to undertake a certain kind of work, especially a religious career; a calling.

I know we're grinding it out pretty hard on our business. You must of misread the headline because you were in such a hurry. But you're right, a little time away help you generate some great ideas.
