Stop Being Average

Just a quick point : people go through their mundane/boring lives with no direction and no improvement. What did you learn today? Who did you meet today? Stop being average.
In which part is your competitor lacking? Take that and execute on it like it's nobody's business. What does your competitor not know? Learn that and use it to your advantage.
Stop being like every one else. Model someone/something that is very successful, and even excel on their goals. Period.
Stop sucking, and start kicking ass. (This includes me at this moment)

This is a great statement, and it is a great being able to discuss similar topics with you. It is extremely hard to get away from average in a world that tries so hard to set the "norm."

This also goes back to our discussions about the 9-5 job, which is the "norm." Only those who strive to step outside that box are the ones who truly succeed in life, and, are above average.

I like to think of it this way. When my company sends out feedback surveys on the services that had recently been provided, there is a ranking system, 1 through 5. 1 being poor and 5 being outstanding. And sitting pretty in the middle, is 3, Average. There is no way that we like to see a 3 come back in any spot on that survey. So, I think to myself, why should life be that way? Why be a 3, when you can improve to a 4 or 5?

I agree with you totally, and you have to remember the factors that determine whether you're a 4 or 5. There could be political/personal/other issues whey you are a 3. A lot of it is also perception, and what OTHERS think of you. You don't want that. You should only care what you think of yourself. If, in your mind, you are a 5, then it doesn't matter what the survey says. YOU ARE A 5.
